Accused Conroy Ramsay told police he and his ex-girlfriend Kimberly Hinds were fighting and “things went bad”.

This was the testimony of Inspector Winston Goddard who was giving evidence in the trial of Ramsay in the No. 2 Supreme Court yesterday.

The Inspector said he saw the accused at the District “E” Police station and, when he told him that Hinds’ body had been found and that he (Goddard) had reason to believe he (Ramsay) could assist, he said the accused replied: “I went up there to talk to her and things went bad and we end up fighting and she hit she head on the ground and I get frightened and I left.”

The lawman said the accused opted to write his own statement and “took his time and appeared to be carefully thinking out what he was writing”.

Ramsay later wrote he telephoned the woman as he was on his way to her house. (HLE)
