20-year-old charged with murder

Police have charged a 20-year-old man in connection with the death of a man who was shot in Baxters Road, St Michael last month.

He is Jakobe Jaheem Yarde of Nurse Land, Bank Hall, St Michael, who appeared in court on Monday, charged with the murder of Jerome Antonio Stuart, 25, of 8th Ave, New Orleans, also in St Michael.

Stuart was shot at Baxter’s Road on April 16 and pronounced dead on arrival at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Yarde also faced two counts each of serious bodily harm and endangering life as well as use of a firearm.

He appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes and was remanded to Dodds Prison until June 9. (PR/SAT)
