COVID-19 Update for May 30

A total of 213 people, 99 males and 114 females, tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, May 30, from among the 941 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of the positive cases, 57 were under the age of 18, and 156 were 18 years and older.

There were 46 people in isolation facilities, while 1 807 were in home isolation.

An 89-year-old vaccinated female passed away from COVID-19 on May 30, bringing the number of COVID-19 related deaths to 450.

The public health laboratory has conducted 686 783 tests since February 2020, and recorded 80 654 COVID-19 cases (36 828 males and 43 826 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 385 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of fully vaccinated is 152 808 (56.4 per cent of the total population or 66.9 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
