Two houses damaged in fire

Fire officers are currently at the scene of a fire at Gemswick, St Philip.

Station officer at Worthing Fire Station, Tremelle Perch, along with eight fire officers and two fire tenders from the Worthing and St John Fire Stations, responded to the blaze after the call was received at 6:32 p.m.

Perch said two wooden structures, which housed three people, were damaged.

He added the fire was under control, but they were currently in the mopping up stage to ensure it remained under control. (RA)
