It will be a quick turnaround period for the Bajan Tridents in the opening round of the 2022-2023 Concacaf Nations League (CNL) football tournament, starting this week.
Nevertheless, head coach Russell Latapy says he is not too fazed by the hectic schedule.
Barbados are set to take on Antigua and Barbuda in their first match on Thursday at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground before travelling to Havana to take on Cuba on Sunday and two reverse fixtures against Guadeloupe on June 9 and 12.
“It’s a tough job for Concacaf to be scheduling these games; it is also a World Cup year,” Latapy told NATIONSPORT. “We need to get our football in, and I think there were a lot of different considerations in putting the games this way. . .” (AGB)
