COVID-19 Update for June 9

Barbados recorded 142 new COVID-19 cases, 63 males and 79 females, from the 632 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Thursday, June 9.

The cases comprised 18 people under the age of 18, and 124 who were 18 years and older.

There were 35 people in isolation facilities, while 1 329 were in home isolation.

As at June 9, there were 467 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 692 940 tests since February 2020, and recorded 82 071 COVID-19 cases (37 418 males and 44 653 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 559 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population). The number of fully vaccinated is 153 003 (56.5 per cent of the total population or 67 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
