COVID-19 Update for July 1

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory has identified 147 new COVID-19 cases, 80 females and 67 males, from the 574 tests conducted on Friday, July 1.

Of the positive cases, 33 people were under the age of 18, and 114 were 18 years and older. There were 134 people in isolation facilities, while 1 484 were in home isolation.

The number of deaths from the viral illness remains at 477.

The public health laboratory has conducted 706 024 tests since February 2020, and recorded 84 709 COVID-19 cases (38 769 males and 45 940 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 630 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of people who are fully vaccinated is 153 546. This represents 56.7 per cent of the total population or 67.2 per cent of the eligible population. The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
