UPDATE: Three injured in shooting at Cave Hill

One person is undergoing emergency surgery and two others were in stable condition at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the victims of a shooting incident near Montgomery pasture, Cave Hill, St Michael.

Police say around 2:40 p.m. on Saturday, one of their patrols heard explosions in the vicinity and they discovered three injured at the scene. The other two people are in stable condition at the hospital.

Acting public relations officer, inspector Stephen Griffith, appealed for the public’s help, asking anyone with information to call the nearest station or Crime Stoppers (1-800-8477 or TIPS), as well as police emergency 211 or the hotline 429-8787.

This was the second shooting incident for the day.

The first occurred at Blackwoods Screw Dock, The City. One man was killed in that altercation and two others injured.

Griffith said he could not confirm reports of other incidents in St John and St Lucy. (CA)
