A first-half hat-trick from Jadon McCollin laid the foundation for UWI Blackbirds to fly away with an 11-1 victory over Youth Milan when the Barbados Football Association’s (BFA) Republic Cup continued on Sunday night in Speightstown, St Peter.

The young striker, playing his first year at the senior level, showed no mercy, scoring twice in five minutes as the Blackbirds were 2-0 ahead with only ten minutes on referee Kevon Clarke’s watch.

McCollin, a former Pro Shottas player, opened his account on the night after a delightful pass from the midfield split a weak Youth Milan defence led by Tavio Norville, and he calmly collected the ball before tucking it away into Evance Prescod’s bottom left corner.

Prescod, the second-choice goalkeeper for Youth Milan, a team once recognised as a fortress in local football, was again picking the ball out of the back of his net when McCollin bagged a second from close range.
