Barbados’ newest centenarian Clarine Edwards, celebrated the milestone at her Dunscombe, St Thomas, yesterday, with President The Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason, Member of Parliament (MP) for St Thomas Cynthia Forde, family and friends.

Edwards’ three children, Lavadne Harris, Glendeen Mayers and Reuben Edwards were all happy to share the day with their mother.

Mayers said her mother was a very caring person who looked out for others.

The birthday girl, who has four grandchildren, four great-grands and two great-great grands, is blind and has difficulty hearing. Just saying a few words, she expressed thanks to both Dame Sandra and Forde, as she sat surrounded by her children and people in the neighbourhood. (Nation News)
