The public service vehicle driver who died at Charnocks, Christ Church, has been identified as Shawn Ricardo Forde.

The 50-year-old of Montrose Gardens in the same parish, was in a vehicle that ran off the road way and struck a wall of rock about 200 metres west of the Adams Roundabout.

Police say they received the call around 1:55 p.m. and were informed that the driver was not responding.  He was later pronounced dead at the scene by a medical doctor.

The front and left side of the ZM van had significant damage and 11 personnel from the Barbados Fire Service responded to extricate the driver.

Police say the death has not been ruled a road fatality or sudden death, pending the results of a post-mortem. (PR/SAT)
