The man charged with the brazen daylight murder in the busy Sheraton Centre Mall has been sentenced to life in prison.

In addition Justice Carlisle Greaves has told the killer that he must first serve 41 years before he becomes eligible for consideration for release.

The judge handed down his decision moments ago in the No 3 Supreme Court.

Hakeem Roberto Stuart, 23, of Shelbourne Gap, St Lawrence, Christ Church, was convicted after a trial for murdering Damian Trotman, of Foursquare, St Philip, on March 21, 2019.

The judge called the daylight killing “brazen”, “an execution” and said the only mitigating factor, the fact that Stuart had no previous convictions, was nullified by the fact this murder was committed while he was on bail for another murder. (HLE)
