The 40th running of the Caribbean’s premier horse race, the Sandy Lane Barbados Gold Cup, is the main attraction of a mouth-watering action-packed ten-race programme on Saturday at the Garrison Savannah.
This card on the Barbados Turf Club’s fifth day of the first season, which runs off at 1 p.m. has attracted 105 horses and will have two supporting features.
So Suave, winner of the Coolmore “Home of Champions” Stakes, will face his stiffest test around 6:10 p.m. when he meets the favourite Tallahatchiebridge, Mo Hawk and It’s A Gamble.
These four entrants are all winners of their last races and this makes the race a very competitive one. (LY)
