There are reports that former Government minister Donville Inniss is due to arrive home today.

Inniss, a former Minister of Health and Minister of Industry, was over the past few months trying to secure an early release from authorities in the United States.

He was originally scheduled to be released in April, but accumulated 130 days credit for good behaviour and was transferred from federal prison to county jail last November, pending a deportation hearing.

The former parliamentary representative for St James South was found guilty in a United States court on two counts of money laundering. He began serving the 24-month sentence in July 2021.

Inniss was also fined US$36 000.

This is a developing story. (Nation News)
