‘Still more to do’ on reaching SDG targets

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has seen the work done and the progress made.

But when it comes to the country’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) she won’t be counting any chickens before they’re hatched.

She made that clear yesterday when hosting the latest stakeholder consultation on the 2030 goals at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

This, even after the United Nation’s top representative in the Eastern Caribbean had congratulated Barbados on having met 43 out of 95 possible SDG targets.

“We’ve come far, yes, but we still have a distance to travel,” Mottley told stakeholders, which included officials from labour, the private sector and the Social Partnership. (BA)
