The Barbados Amateur Basketball Association’s selection committee has selected a squad predominantly comprising foreign-based players to participate in the FIBA Americup 2025 pre-qualifiers in Chile.

Nine of the final 12-man squad are from Universities and Colleges across the United States except for veteran Andre Lockhart who plays professionally in the United Kingdom.

Deroni Hurley, who captains Premier League Champions Pinelands, will be without his two best teammates Deveron Knight and Rasheed Maynard which might come as a surprise to many avid supporters of the local league. Keefe Birkett of Lakers Sports Club and Akeem Marsh of Burger King Clapham Bulls make up the other two local players in the squad.

Kiserian Adams and Kemar Benn of Baton Rouge Community College, Justin Pile of Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Kyrone Alexander of South Shore High, Tanner Thomas of Sacred Heart University, Carl Thorpe Jr of Western Nebraska College, Mahkaya Moore of Bishop Loughlin HS and Chikosi Boardi of London Basketball Academy represent the foreign-based contingent (DG)
