BDF lieutenant to learn fate

Tomorrow will be decision day for Barbados Defence Force (BDF) Lieutenant David Harewood.

That’s when the Court of Appeal will rule on his appeal against his court martial-ordered dismissal from the BDF.

Harewood, who was attached to the Barbados Coast Guard, was ordered dismissed, in June 2019, as punishment for unbecoming behaviour that could have brought the BDF into disrepute.

He had been found guilty of engaging in conduct that prejudiced the good order and military discipline by carrying out unauthorised information-gathering operations at various locations between January 1 and September 30, 2018, which was unbecoming of a commissioned officer.  (HLE)
