Barbadian elite pugilist Jabali Breedy executed a solid performance in the ring which earned him a semi-final spot and a place in the medal round at the ongoing 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games in El Salvador.

After going the full distance of three rounds in the 51kg category, Breedy unanimously impressed the judges and won against Hansell Lopez of Guatemala in what was an entertaining bout, says Barbados coach Laurence Hunte.

The 26-year-old Breedy will fight today Yunior Alcantara of the Dominican Republic for a place in the final.

Sharing his thoughts on the fight, Hunte said, “In the first round he boxed in two ways, counter punching the opponent, landing those clean effective shots. As well as in the middle of the round he pretty much went toe to toe and established his dominance on him.  .  . (ML)
