The Hott 95.3FM Soca Rumble in association with Bushy Park Barbados, which was originally scheduled for July 31, will now be held in 2024 and those who have already purchased tickets will be refunded.

Organisers, Ocean Gem Productions Inc., said the decision was made after careful consideration and discussion with Bushy Park Barbados.

“In light of the recently announced one-off national holiday on Monday July 31, to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), we have made a determination that given the historic significance and national celebrations to be scheduled on the same date, it would be in the best interest of the public and in recognition of the historical value of Barbados being a founder of CARICOM, to postpone the inaugural Soca Rumble Competition,” said a media release.

“To date, Soca Rumble has captured the interest of local, regional and international patrons, who have been eagerly anticipating the staging of the inaugural event, with the chance to witness party, bashment and sweet soca genres all-in-one. But, further to the announcement of the public holiday and its accompanying national celebrations, patrons want the opportunity to attend the activities on this historic occasion and would not be in a position to do so with both main events on the same day. We have taken our patrons’ concerns into consideration and with the move to 2024, they will now be presented with the opportunity to fully attend and participate in the CARICOM celebrations this year.”

“In addition, it has been recognised that Barbados has a number of new and emerging artistes in the genres of party, bashment and sweet soca music and this change will ensure that all artistes are presented with an extended timeframe to prepare their music for registration in the competition for 2024.”

“Our new date for the 2024 event will be announced at a subsequent time, however, patrons and various stakeholders can rest assured that we will be hosting a bigger and better event on next year’s calendar, with top-of-the-line performers, a unique style of competition and the delivery of different genres of music to satisfy our audiences far and wide.”

Refunds will be granted to patrons for tickets previously purchased at the various box offices including Sol Warrens, Sol Redmans, and Dallas Discounts – Sheraton Mall and Dallas Discounts – Swan Street and bushyparkbarbados.com. To facilitate refunds, contact can be made via direct messaging on Instagram @socarumble246. (PR/SAT)
