Lester Leroy Howell secured almost $200 000 from two banks in 2015, but every cent was obtained by criminal deception and he ended up being charged with 12 financial crimes.

Howell, 60, of Eversley Road, Brittons Hill, St Michael, pleaded guilty to the counts when he appeared twice before Justice Wanda Blair in the No. 4A Supreme Court last month.

They included criminal deception, money laundering, dishonestly obtaining funds with the intention of permanently depriving the banks of the cash, theft, going equipped and presenting a forged cheque.

Howell is being represented by Senior Counsel Andrew Pilgrim while Senior State Counsel Rudolph Burnett is prosecuting. (SD)
