The body of 63-year-old Goldwyn Scott was recovered yesterday from a well over 250 feet deep after a gruelling hour-long operation.

Scott, of Quarry Road, Arthur Seat, St Thomas, who was last seen on Thursday, was the subject of a missing person’s report issued by police yesterday around noon, more than an hour after he was discovered, although there was no positive identification at that point.

The initial call came in to police around 10:30 a.m. and the Barbados Fire Service at 10:52 a.m.

Scott was pulled from the well around 5:15 p.m. It was located in a bushy area along Thorpe’s Main Road, St James, near the junction leading to the Caribbean Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH).

His family, including his wife, after being taken to see the body, were hugging each other and sobbing. He also has two daughters. (CA)
