The Barbados Meteorological Services discontinued the flash flood watch at 5:17 p.m.
However, a tropical wave is currently affecting the island and is forecast to bring some light shower activity over the next few hours. Rainfall accumulations are not expected to be sufficient for flash flooding to occur within the next six hours.
It should be noted that moderate rainfall activity is forecast to resume after midnight, and therefore it remains possible that a flash flood watch or warning could be issued at short notice..

A flash flood watch is in effect for Barbados.
A flash flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area, but does not mean flooding will occur.
A tropical wave is expected to bring rainfall accumulations of one to two inches (25 to 50mm) in moderate to heavy showers across Barbados from this afternoon into tonight.
Isolated thunderstorm activity is also expected this afternoon and therefore the thunderstorm alert level has been raised to Yellow (Be Aware).
This message will be updated at 6 p.m. Monday, or sooner if conditions warrant. (PR/SAT)
