Ensure Max Protein Weymouth Wales emerged as the undisputed champions of Barbados football as they completed a hard-fought league and cup double on Sunday night with a 1-0 victory over Ellerton in a tense and tight Champions Cup final at the BFA’s Wildey Turf.

While the final itself will not be spoken of for generations to come, the game’s chaotic intensity resulted in a busy evening for referee Adrian Goddard, who awarded Wales a penalty when Rosean Brathwaite tripped Shaquille Stewart from behind.

Shaquille “Razu” Boyce, ineffective for most of the game up to that point, held his nerve to dispatch what ended up being the winning goal, with 15 minutes to go. (NM)
