Barbados recorded just one death associated with the COVID-19 virus in the two week period August 19 and September 1.

That represented a far drop from eight deaths recorded in the previous fortnight.

In the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ most recent dashboard released earlier today, it was revealed that 136 people were diagnosed with the respiratory illness in the period, from 613 tests.

As of September 1, just nine people remained in care at the Harrison Point facility in St Lucy.

The dashboard also revealed for the sixth straight week, no one in Barbados was vaccinated against the virus.

So far, 163 853 people have received at least a first dose, while 155 045 people in Barbados are considered fully vaccinated. The percentage of people with at least one dose in the population is 60.5 per cent, while 57.2 per cent of the total population is fully vaccinated.
