BFA parts ways with national coaches

“They will not be missed!”

Those were the strong sentiments of former men’s national football team head coach and veteran sports administrator Adrian Donovan after the Barbados Football Association (BFA) announced yesterday that head coach Orlando Da Costa and his assistant Ricardo Fernandes decided not to renew their contracts by mutual agreement and with immediate effect.

The timing of the decision puts the association and the team in a ticklish position as they return to action next week Friday in the 2023/2024 Concacaf Nations League at home to Nicaragua then away to Montserrat.

Technical director Emmerson Boyce will take temporary charge of the national team.  (NM)
