Gunman Pearson Philip Goodridge is a first, said Justice Carlisle Greaves.

“Everybody finds a gun. You are the first man to say, ‘I bought my gun’. We had quarries that produced guns; sidewalks that guns walked out of. And you are the first man we had with the gun in fowl feed,” he added.

The judge was speaking in the No. 3 Supreme Court after he heard Goodridge had bought the gun from “a white man” who was leaving the island and looking for “fast money”.

Goodridge, of Golden Acre, St Stephen’s Hill, Black Rock, St Michael, had pleaded guilty to having a .45 Glock semi-automatic pistol and ten rounds of ammunition on May 18, 2021.

He was represented by attorneys Rachelle Ward and Shadia Simpson, while Principal State Counsel Neville Watson and State Counsel Treann Knight prosecuted. (HLE)
