Foundation lift title

Captain and star batsman Joshua Dorne returned the Barbados Public Workers Cooperative Credit Union Limited Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) Schools’ Under-19 title to Church Hill yesterday when Christ Church Foundation defeated Queen’s College by 44 runs in the final yesterday at Yorkshire Club, Friendship.

Led by an attractive half-century by toss-winning captain Dorne, Foundation reached 233 for nine in their 40 overs.

In reply, Queen’s College fell quite short as they were dismissed for 189 in 36.3 overs with Cody Holder hitting a quickfire half-century.

Dorne, fresh from a West Indies Under-19 tour in Trinidad, made an attractive 86 from 83 deliveries to provide the backbone of Foundation’s innings.

The classy right-hander stroked nine fours and hit four sixes in his stay at the crease. (RW)
