Man blames alcohol for ‘bad feel’

Jamaican Clifroy Shamroy Hepburn blamed alcohol for causing him to feel up a woman’s leg while he was sitting next to her in a public service vehicle (PSV).

However, he claimed the act was “nothing serious”, a comment that provoked a strong response from Magistrate Alison Burke.

“You can’t determine that,” the magistrate reprimanded Hepburn, who was in the District “A” Traffic Court. “The law says I am to protect my body and keep my body safe.

“You can’t determine that. It is for the person to determine how egregious it is. Any unwanted touch is an assault,” she said. (HLE)
