Judge throws out murder case

Had the prosecution’s main eyewitness come and said what he told police, there might have been a case for Danny Lamar Husbands to answer.

However, said Justice Pamela Beckles, he did not and the closed circuit television (CCTV) footage did not add anything to the matter.

As a result, she upheld the no-case submission by defence attorney Senior Counsel Angella Mitchell-Gittens and ordered the jury to return a formal verdict of not guilty in the murder trial yesterday.

Husbands, of Ferniehurst, Black Rock, St Michael, had been accused of murdering 39-year-old Oluremi Young, formerly of Bagatelle, St Thomas, on September 4, 2020.
