The Commissioner of Police Richard Boyce revealed that lawmen have retrieved five firearms and ammunition used in the recent spate of aggravated burglaries, and robberies.
In a statement, Boyce said “Over the past week, The Barbados Police Service has noticed an uptick in incidents involving cases of aggravated burglaries and robberies by persons who were in possession of firearms.
He added that the Police Service has been carrying out extensive investigations into these matters and significant progress has been made in arresting a number of perpetrators who were involved in planning and committing these offences.
“The offenses resulted in the culprits stealing sums of cash from business establishments located mainly in the southern part of the country.”
The top cop wants to assure the public that they are dealing with this recent crime surge.
“We wish to assure the public that we are confident in our strategies which have been implemented to deal with this recent uptick in crime. We encourage all law- abiding citizens to continue their partnership with us and assist us in keeping our country safe. Let us unite against the criminal elements.”
These criminals need tougher hands. Otherwise they will never stop.
The government needs to give all business people the authority to protect themselves and their properties, by any means necessary.
The government doesn’t have to published their intentions, just casually drop a hint. ( protect yourself)
Because these young people were born evil and it seems as though nothing can be done to changed them.
The only thing you can do with a diseased animal is to kill it!
These young people aren’t doing anything to help themselves or their country.
They are only taking, and taking. Who will replenished the bucket when it runs dry?
It’s so sad that no one is seeing this.
And decent young men are dying because someone decides all black men are thugs.
Parents with decent children should be outraged.
Because one day their children might be mistaken for thugs.
I am outraged and I don’t even have children.
