The gymnasium at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex was transformed into a world of magic and fantasy as Pine Hill Adventureland Circus and theme park attracted hundreds over the weekend.

The entertainment production, which is in its second year, catered to all. The young members of the family unit had their fill of fun outside the theme park and there was a Cuban circus act with its cast of acrobats, magicians, dancers, jugglers, hula hoop artistes and an award- winning clown from Spain in the Gymnasium during the visit by the NATION for the 2 p.m. show on Sunday.

The two-and-a-half-hour circus was enhanced by scintillating sound and lighting effects and music which made for an electric atmosphere enjoyed by the youngsters under the watchful eye of parents and guardians.

Category manager for Pine Hill Dairy and brewed non-alcoholic products at Banks Breweries, Danielle Brereton, in giving an overview of the activities on the two-day event, noted: “The idea behind the entire event is to provide a safe, enjoyable space for Barbadian families to come out and enjoy each other’s company.” (JS)

  1. It was probably quite exciting and enjoyable at the same time for the little ones.
Something to get their minds off all the bad that’s in the world. Even for a brief moment.
Congratulations to the person who came up with the activity.
The youngsters who saw the acts will never forget this weekend.
