It was double delight in the football-crazy districts of Paradise and Deacons when the 2024 Cooperators General Insurance Old Boys League knockout finals climaxed on Sunday night in front of a massive crowd at Bagatelle, St Thomas.

First up, Williams Tools & Equipment Rentals Deacons blanked All-Ah-We FC 4-0 in the 35s finals with double strikes from former Barbados captain Jeffrey Williams and Barry Carter. Williams struck in the 5th and 47th minutes while Carter slotted home in the 17th and 50th to add the knockout title to their already captured league crown.

Then, Paradise trounced Exactly Unified 50s 3-0 with goals from Basil Burke (19th), Cannon Williams (24th) and Richard Wood (37th) as a large contingent of decked out fans celebrated the Christ Church side’s adding the 50s knockout crown to their league triumph. (KB)
