The Oistins’ Magistrates’ Court has been closed after a bed bug was found in a chair inside the court this morning.

As a result, Magistrate Deidre McKenna adjourned all of the matters on the court’s calendar for the day,  while police officers assigned to the court prohibited persons from entering the courtroom. The clerk’s office, located within the same building, was also closed and staff left just after 11 a.m.

The St. Matthias Magistrates’ Court, which sits in the same building from 12. 30 a.m. daily, will also be affected by the closure.
