The refurbishment work in Oistins should be completed by the end of May.

This assurance was given by the chairman of Oistins Bay Gardens Inc. Kemar Harris during a site meeting to update those working in Bay Gardens and the Berinda Cox Fish Market about the upcoming changes.

The May deadline was given for the completion of the refurbishment work to take place in Oistins, Christ Church, where the infrastructure and drainage would be given a facelift and a Cricket World Cup fan zone, similar to the ones being built at Pelican Village, St Michael and Haymans, St Peter, would be established. The cost was estimated to be around $5 million.

To facilitate the deadline, Harris said Bay Gardens would be closed early some nights until the work was complete. Last night, Harris said Bay Gardens would close at 9:45 p.m. but would close normally until Monday. From Monday to Thursday, it will close at 11 p.m. and on Friday, the biggest night of the week, remain open until 2 a.m. Then on Saturday and Sunday, it will close at midnight.
