More dust haze expected in Barbados this weekend

The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) is monitoring a plume of dust haze moving across the eastern and central Atlantic Ocean. While forecasts suggest the dust will weaken slightly, Barbados and surrounding waters can expect hazy skies and reduced visibility starting this Sunday, May 5th, 2024. The hazy conditions are expected to clear by Wednesday, May 8th, 2024.

There are currently no official advisories or warnings in place for Barbados. However, residents are advised to monitor websites and social media pages of the BMS, Department of Emergency Management (DEM), and Government Information Service (GIS) for updates.

Additionally, the public should follow any health advisories issued by the Ministry of Health and Wellness. (BMS)
