Laff lines on cue

Another season of Laff-It-Off is over, the skits are memories to dip into when you want a hearty chuckle about the foibles of life and politics.

The laughter from the mostly sold-out audiences was music to the ears of the cast and crew who work tirelessly from October or thereabout to get the script, the set, the costumes, and the technical aspects that go into making the production ready.

Comedy is serious business and if it is to be done right, it takes a lot of work. It’s with a measure of pride that people who are involved with Laff-It-Off note it will be celebrating its 40th anniversary next year. Among them is talented actor Angelo Lascelles who directed the production for a second consecutive year.

In an interview with Weekend Buzz, he reflected on his directorial debut saying: “I think being exposed to Laff-It-Off for the period of time I was, and even while being an actor thinking about, if I were to direct how the show would go, I think last year, even though it had the natural stresses that come with directing, it was pretty good.
