This was the contention of Senior Counsel Andrew Pilgrim as he argued for time served for Bequia resident Brendon Elliston Ollivierre in the No. 2 Supreme Court yesterday.
Boat captain Michael Montgomery Jackson, of Questelles, St Vincent; chief engineer Ollivierre, of La Pompe, Bequia, and second engineer Jake-Jess McPherson King, of Mt Pleasant, Bequia, admitted they unlawfully imported 176.9 kilogrammes of cannabis; that they had it in their possession and that they had a traffickable quantity of the drug, all on April 27, 2021.
The drugs, along with fruits and vegetables, were found on board a vessel which had docked in the Bridgetown Port. They had a street value of over $700 000.
