Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) is closely monitoring a tropical wave located in the eastern Atlantic along 30W, approximately 3,200 km (2,000 miles) east of Barbados.

Environmental conditions are favourable for the wave’s slow development, with the potential for it to become a tropical depression by Tuesday or Wednesday.

This system is separate from Hurricane Beryl.

Residents are urged to follow guidance from the Department of Emergency Management and stay updated through BMS, DEM, and GIS websites, social media, and local media outlets.

The next update will be at 5 am on Sunday.
