Kirby eliminated from Men’s 100m freestyle

Barbadian swimmer Jack Kirby was eliminated from the Men’s 100M freestyle competition after finishing third in his heat with the 46th overall time.

The 24-year-old raced in heat 5 and finished with a time of 50.42. America’s Jack Alexy led all qualifiers with his performance of 47:57 in Heat 8.

The 16 fastest swimmers from the heats qualified to the semi-finals with the remaining 63 athletes being eliminated.
