Ministry of Education announces new principal assignments across schools

The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training has announced the reassignment of several school principals across the island, affecting both primary and secondary institutions. This move comes as part of the Ministry’s efforts to ensure effective leadership in response to the educational needs of the country.

A total of 11 out of 68 primary school principals and 5 out of 21 secondary school principals have been assigned to new schools. These changes are effective immediately.

New Primary School Assignments:

  • Mr. Greig Walters has been transferred from Welches Primary School to Wesley Hall Junior School.
  • Ms. Lasonja Watson moves from Hindsbury Primary School to Bay Primary School.
  • Ms. Stacey Drakes takes over at Hindsbury Primary School, leaving her post at St. Ambrose Primary School.
  • Mrs. Nancy Haynes will now lead St. Martin’s Mangrove Primary School, previously serving at St. Giles Primary School.
  • Mrs. Trudy Alleyne moves from Ignatius Byer Primary School to St. Elizabeth Primary School.
  • Mrs. Merlene Brathwaite has been reassigned from Bay Primary School to St. Ambrose Primary School.
  • Ms. Cheryl Marshall will now head Selah Primary School, having been transferred from St. Elizabeth Primary School.
  • Mrs. Ingrid Lashley moves to Sharon Primary School from West Terrace Primary School.
  • Mrs. Gloria Caines has been reassigned from Belmont Primary School to All Saints Nursery School.
  • Ms. Charmain Jones now takes the reins at West Terrace Primary School, previously serving at Sharon Primary School.
  • Mrs. Deborah Stoute-Burke will now lead Eden Lodge Primary School after moving from St. Martin’s Mangrove Primary School.

New Secondary School Assignments:

  • Mr. Stephen Proverbs continues at Grantley Adams Memorial School for Term 1.
  • Mr. Robin Douglas has been transferred from The Lodge School to Combermere.
  • Mr. Stephen Jackman moves from Christ Church Foundation to The Lodge School.
  • Mrs. Michelle Edwards will remain at Frederick Smith Secondary School until September 23.
  • Dr. Wendy Lewis has been reassigned from Christ Church Foundation to Parkinson Memorial.

The Ministry expressed its appreciation to the principals for their previous contributions and is confident that these changes will foster improved leadership and positive outcomes for the schools involved.
