Barbados Royals captain Rovman Powell remains optimistic that his team can reverse their recent poor form and secure a crucial win over Trinbago Knight Riders in today’s Eliminator of the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

The Royals cruised into the playoff stages, becoming the first team to reach 10 points after six matches. However, their fortunes have since taken a dramatic turn, losing all four of their encounters in Guyana as the competition approaches its grand finale on October 6.

“We started the competition in Antigua and we played some good cricket in our first five or six games. If I am being totally honest, we have fallen off since then in our last few games.

“Guyana hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for us over the years but this year arises an opportunity for us to change that,”  Powell remarked while reflecting on the team’s performance.
