The 2024 BFA Guardian Group Youth Football Tournament has officially been launched, continuing the partnership between the Barbados Football Association (BFA) and Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited. This annual competition, which supports the development of Under-9 to Under-17 Boys and Mixed teams, plays a vital role in fostering young football talent across the island. Guardian Life has once again reaffirmed its commitment to the tournament, providing essential financial backing for the event’s operational needs.

BFA general secretary, Ashley Scott-Williams, expressed deep gratitude for Guardian Life’s unwavering support of both the association and youth football in Barbados. “The BFA remains committed to providing young boys and girls from every community with the opportunity to play and enhance their footballing skills,” Scott-Williams stated. “To achieve this, partnerships with corporate entities like Guardian Life are crucial. Their contribution ensures that we can create an environment where football can thrive and positively impact the lives of all involved. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited for over a decade of steadfast support, which has been instrumental in driving our mission to continuously develop young footballers across Barbados.”

Reflecting on the partnership, Amado Marcano, Branch Manager of Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited, remarked, “We are immensely proud to continue supporting the Barbados Football Association and youth football on the island. Guardian Life is passionate about empowering young people and promoting healthy lifestyle choices through sport. As such, we remain dedicated to investing in the next generation of footballers, further cementing the BFA’s and Barbados’ leadership in regional football. We look forward to deepening our long-standing partnership with the BFA and witnessing the continued growth of football in Barbados.”

The 2024 BFA Guardian Group Youth Football Tournament will run until November, culminating in a Finals Day at the BFA Technical Centre in Wildey.
