Fire destroys home in Checker Hall, St. Lucy

The Barbados Fire Service responded to a house fire in Checker Hall, St. Lucy this afternoon.

According to Station Officer Tremelle Perch, they responded to a call reporting the burning and discovered upon arrival one property entirely engulfed in flames and one slightly damaged.

Two fire tenders along with eight fire officials worked quickly to contain the fire and avoid further damage to nearby homes.

Initial reports suggest that there were eight occupants, but authorities have yet to confirm. More details into the cause of the fire will be given once investigations are completed.
