WORCESTERSHIRE – West Indies all-rounder and former Worcestershire player Jason Holder will reunite with the English county side later this month as part of his recovery following shoulder surgery.

The 32-year-old Barbadian requested the opportunity to work with the club that rekindled his “love for cricket” during his brief but impactful stint earlier this year.

Holder, who featured in five County Championship matches for Worcestershire in the 2024 season, left a lasting impression on both his teammates and fans.

As part of his ‘back-to-cricket’ programme, he will spend a week training with the squad before Christmas while also attending follow-up appointments with his specialist in the United Kingdom (UK).

Worcestershire Head Coach Alan Richardson expressed his excitement about Holder’s return.

“Unfortunately, Jason has dealt with some injury setbacks and recently underwent shoulder surgery here in the UK. During his time back for medical consultations, he asked if he could join us for a short while.”

“It will be fantastic to have him involved. Jason is not only a top-quality player but also a remarkable individual who brings immense energy to the squad. The players and support staff alike will benefit from his presence. We are looking forward to having him around for the week.”

Holder has maintained strong ties with Worcestershire since his departure, staying in touch with his former teammates as the county achieved its best Championship position since the competition’s two-division structure was introduced. (CMC)
