Shooting victim identified as Stephon Miller

The identity of the victim in Monday night’s fatal shooting at Quakers Road, Carrington Village, St. Michael has been confirmed as Stephon Diego Miller, 33, of 3rd Avenue, Nurse Land, Tweedside Road, St. Michael.

Police at Central Station have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Miller’s unnatural death.

The Police Operations Control Room received a report at 10:46 p.m. and responded to the scene. Preliminary investigations revealed that Miller had been sitting on the step of a shop when he was approached by a man. A series of gunshots were heard, and he fell to the ground. A medical doctor later pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigations are ongoing, and law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information to contact the Central Police Station at 430-7676, the Criminal Investigations Department (Central) at 430-7189 or 430-7190, Police Emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1800-TIPS (8477), or the nearest police station.
