Shooting at Nelson Street

Police responded to Beckwith Street, St Michael, around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, following reports of gunshots in the area.

Investigations revealed an altercation between two men, during which a series of gunshots were discharged. One of the bullets penetrated a nearby house, injuring a young male inside.

He was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a private vehicle, where he received medical attention and was later discharged the same evening.

Police continue to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have information that can assist with investigations to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1800-8477, Police Emergency at 211, or the Criminal Investigations Department at 430-7189 or 430-7190.

Update – Initial reports say two children, ages 11 and 14, were injured in the shooting incident at Nelson Street, St Michael.

One was grazed by a bullet, while the other is said to be in more serious condition.

Investigations are ongoing.
