International soca sensation Patrice Roberts is set to bring her acclaimed “I Am Woman” concert series to Barbados for the first time.

Scheduled for Mother’s Day, Sunday, the event will take place at the iconic Kensington Oval, promising an unforgettable evening celebrating the strength and resilience of Patrice Roberts through her music.

The Barbados leg of “I Am Woman” follows a series of sold-out concerts in Trinidad and Tobago, Toronto and New York City. This upcoming concert in Barbados holds special significance for the artiste, as the island played a pivotal role in the early stages of her music career. As Patrice explains, “Barbados considered me to be one of its own from inception and that never goes unnoticed.

“The support I received in the beginning stages of my career from Barbados was extremely encouraging and, to this day, I continue to receive tremendous support and love.”

Themed Reflections: You, Me, We, the concert aims to highlight the connection between Patrice, her supporters and Barbados. In preparation for the concert, Roberts and MTM Talent Agency hosted dance auditions to select local dancers to share the stage with her. This initiative is indicative of her commitment to intentionally creating space for Caribbean talent in her events.

The show is produced by Nouvelle Vie and D&A Events Promotions, led by Orlando Newton, De Carla Applewhaite and Andrew Weekes.

Patrons can anticipate a full-length band performance by Patrice, which will include classics that were created in Barbados by Barbadian talent.

Lady Lava, Yung Bredda and Edwin Yearwood are among the artistes who are expected to perform. (PR)
