Police investigate shooting in the Ivy

Update: Police at District ‘A’ Station are investigating a robbery that occurred around 2:10 p.m. today along Ivy Main Road, St Michael.

According to reports, a group of men were seated outside a shop when two masked individuals, both armed with firearms, approached them. One of the men attempted to flee but fell while running. The assailants proceeded to rob him of his personal belongings and then discharged several gunshots before fleeing the scene.

The injured man was transported for medical treatment in a private vehicle. He reportedly sustained a dislocated shoulder and abrasions to his feet and hands as a result of the fall. No one at the scene sustained gunshot injuries, and there was no reported damage to property.

Police are continuing investigations into the matter and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477, Police Emergency at 211, or the District ‘A’ Police Station at 430-7242 or 430-7246.
