The Randal Phillips Polyclinic, located at Oistins, Christ Church, is closed today, Friday, June 6 due to an oil spill in close proximity to the healthcare facility.

While the spill has been contained by personnel from the Barbados National Energy Company Ltd, commuters and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area as clean-up efforts are carried out.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness advises the public that fumes from the oil spill could cause irritation of the eyes, nose, throat, and skin. Additionally, people with asthma or other lung diseases may be more sensitive to these effects. (PR/SAT)
