Two Barbadian players, West Indies vice captain Jomel Warrican and USA batsman Aaron Jones, will play in Sunday’s final of the Emancipation Cricket Festival in St Vincent. Warrican, the left-arm spinner, grew up in St Vincent before moving to Barbados.

He is captain of the Grenadines Whalers who also have Aaron Jones in their team. Jones was born in the USA but grew up in Barbados.

He now represents the United States in T20 Internationals and One-Day Internationals.

The Whalers will come up against Kingstown Kings, who will be led by Kesrick Williams, the former West Indies seam bowler. The final is set for the Arnos Vale Complex at 7pm and will be the climax off the four-day event.

In the opening round, the Whales beat Windwards Warriors by 61 on Friday night. They made 146-9 off their 30 overs with the top score of 49 from Dillon Douglas. Barbadian Kevin Stoute took 4-27 from four overs. Warriors then replied with 85 all out off 17.5 overs. Warrican took three wickets for 16 from 2.5 overs.
